Who We Are:
Camp Richardson Corral and Pack Station was first opened in the summer of 1934 by Allen Ross at the request of the Richardsons of Camp Richardson Resort. It has been in continual summer operation by three generations of the Ross family since that time. Rob Ross, the second generation, began winter sleigh rides in 1985. The Corral continues operation today under Quint Ross, the grandson of the founder. The corral and pack station have been at three different locations at Camp Richardson over the years, the current location being the furthest west and the longest occupied.

Pleasant Experience for first-time rider
I had never ridden a horse in my life before this and it was a very pleasant experience :)
I asked for a calm, small horse and i wound up getting the oldest horse they had, which was totally fine. My dad didn't want to join me on the trail ride, so it was just me, a couple, and a (rather attractive :P) trail guide.
The trail he took us on was so pretty! After going through a ton of trees and up hills and what not, we got to a clearing where we could see the Lake so clearly. It was beautiful!

Bring a camera, Great Scenery
Very nice ride. We enjoyed it a lot. My horse was "Craig". When I first got there I asked for the smallest and friendliest horse. What I really wanted was a horse who would not give me problems. This was my "first" time riding a horse. My horse literally stopped every 10min. He had to poop, he had to go #1, he was itchy and he wanted to eat. And I'm still okay with it because, over all I know he was a good horse.
Our guide was very friendly.
Do bring a camera, it's a great place for pictures. Two hour ride is great, but a one hour would be fine too. It just depends how much you like horses.
On a two hour ride you get to see the lake (we did). Horses go through a lot of rocks, will go uphill, down hill, cross a street, so hold on and enjoy the ride.

Get Away from It All at Camp Richardson's Corral
Escape the maddening crowds and slap down a couple of $20 bills for a few hours of fun at the Camp Richardson's Corral.
The minute you pull up into the parking lot, you feel like you've just stepped into a lovely dude ranch kind of dream. Every single person who works here looks like they just stepped out of a magazine shoot for a Ralph Lauren ad. Even the horses looked like they stepped out of a rainbows and unicorns photography set.
It would be annoying if the experience wasn't so dang perfect.
The horses are all lovely and "matched" to your personality and experience. Lucky me, I got Blue, who is built low to the ground and very sturdy and slow, just like me. We were in a small group of 6 riders plus a guide, and my six year old niece was having a blast. We rode up to a small ridge with pretty but faraway views of the lake.
My one minor "meh" was the fact that at some points of the ride, another group was fairly close to us. They were a group of rowdy friends and were pretty loud and obnoxious, so the peace and serenity of being on a mountain horseback ride was shattered by their noise. I wish their guide had asked them to bring down the noise level, but at the same time, they were all having a great time too, so I can't begrudge them that.

Experience a Great Sleigh Ride
Went here for a January sleigh ride and it turned out to be a very nice experience. The trail goes through a forest area adjacent to the ranch.
The folks that work here are pleasant and friendly. They offer hot chocolate and homemade apple cider which is delicious. The old pictures and hot firewood heater are charming and keep customers cozy while waiting for the sleigh ride to start.
Not necessarily cheap at $28 a head but IMO worth it if you're looking for this kind of scenic experience. Friends who have been on a sleigh ride closer to the Casinos say that this is a much better option.
There are two teams of winter horses, Jiminy and Cricket and Slim and Shady.
